I did watch the clip when I read your poem. I like the song, melody and lyrics. Do you Know Karl Wallinger well? I am so awed by you super-creative people. The Ship of Fools reference I have been more familiar with through the years is the novel of that title by Katherine Anne Porter. The novel was written in the ’60s, won all kinds of awards, and is still in print, I think. The passengers on that ship showed attitudes, problems, etc. that led them to pre-WWII Germany in the early 1930s. Some themes about people keep repeating themselves, like any of these showing our self-involvement while the world around us is heading for various versions of Hell.

Sorry for the long comment…

Writing on whatever strikes my mood, from politics to humor (or a combination of the two), to spirituality, or whatever else shows up. Retired, not in retreat.
